CBT is considered a gold standard treatment for anxiety and many other mental health concerns. Our therapists use CBT to help clients better understand the complex interplay occurring between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT often includes various components, including behavioral experiments, exposure therapy, cognitive restructuring, and relaxation techniques.
ACT encourages clients to clarify their core values and learn how to embrace certain thoughts and feelings without judging them. By accepting “negative experiences,” (instead of resisting or suppressing them), they tend to have less power over your well-being. Our therapists implement ACT to help clients strengthen their resilience and live more authentically.
Humanistic therapy focuses on harnessing each person’s inherent potential for self-awareness, personal growth, and well-being. This modality emphasizes seeing a client as a “whole person”- rather than a set of symptoms or presenting issues. This fosters a much-needed sense of safety within the therapeutic relationship, and it can be an essential part of the healing process.
Self-compassion work is rooted in themes of self-kindness, mindfulness, and embracing themes of common humanity. By becoming more self-compassionate, people learn how to better take care of themselves and accept their struggles as a very normal part of life. Our therapists emphasize teaching and integrating self-compassion in all parts of the treatment process.
